Cheap hollow body/semi acoustic bass guitar models or brands?
I want an acoustic bass guitar but the strings are too high and I want it to feel somewhat like an electric bass,I want to play anytime unplugged,because bringing an electric bass to school is a hassle because i have to bring an amp and it needs to be plugged in, and I don’t want one of those mini amps.
I want the original list price. preferably 200-300 dollars.

What size amp should you use with an acoustic bass guitar?
I understand that when a bassist (using an acoustic bass guitar) plays with other acoustic instruments (let’s just say acoustic guitar, mandolin, and/or banjo) that they still require the use of an amp to amplify their instrument’s sound.
The underlying assumption here is that the bassist is playing an acoustic set with other acoustic instruments, so no one other than the bassist would be using any amps.
What sized amp would the bassist require? I would assume it would be fairly small, but I’m not sure on the exact wattage.

Semi Acoustic Bass Guitar?
Been playing bass guitar for a while now and I really like the look of a semi acoustic one:

However it says it has a "30.3" scale length neck", does this make it smaller than a normal bass?
